Bocas Del Sol is the story of my family and heritage. My Grandmother who was a big part of my early years was from Bocas Del Torro Panama, Isla Colon. I have great memories of being there even though back then it was still considered a third world country. Bocas del Torro translates to "Mouth of the Bull" We have all been there at one time or another right in the thick of things. I decided to name my restaurant Bocas Del Sol for the simple fact that the sunflower (which is my favorite flower) wakes up to face the sun every day, and ever since I was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2000 this would be my motto to always look to the sun for my healing and inspiration. Mi Abuela has since past but will never be forgotten.
